follow your spark plug wires from the engine and they will lead directly to the coil pack. it is what they plug into
if the vehicle has a 1.9 eng. Coil is located on end of engine (drivers side)
timing belt
I was looking at one of the Ford websites and for a 1995 and 1996 Ford Escort , with the 1.9 liter four cylinder engine it shows the same part number ( Motorcraft DG-435 ) for the coil * so in short , I would say the answer is ( YES )
rear of the engine right uder the coil assembly bracket at the end of the top radiator hose is where you will find the t-stat housing held down with three 8mm bolts.
What coil goes to what cylinder
The ignition coil is located just to the right of your car's engine. An easy way to locate it is to follow the wires from your spark plugs. The other end of the cable is connected to the ignition coil.
Not sure what a timing coil is. More info please.
Asking "Where is the ignition coil located on a1985 ford 4.9 with efi?"
There are 2 locations- for the 1.8L, the pcv valve is located on the valave cover; on 1.9L and 2.0L engines, the pcv valve is located on the crankcase vent, which is located on the left-hand of the ignition coil module.
Built into the distributor.
The coil
First thing is to make sure you have fire (spark) at the spark plugs. If not change the ignition coil.
