The 1999 Chevrolet Alamo crank shaft position sensor is located on the back of the engine. You will need to remove the rear engine cover in order to access the crank position sensor.
The cam sensor is the distributor, The crank sensor is in the front bottom left side of the timing cover. Behind the balancer.
The 1997 Chevrolet Malibu crank position sensor is located on the back of the crankshaft. The rear engine cover will need to be removed in order to view the sensor.
It is located on the back side of the engine, where the distributor originally went.

That year did not USE a Crank sensor.
To test a 1995 Cavalier crank sensor you would need to get a mechanic's computer. They can put a sensor/fuse tester on it and see if it is working properly.
Yes! 1995-1999 yes it will fit but if you live in states that require inspections it will not pass because of the crank shaft sensor will not be picked up. been there done that!

that would come up on your on board computer, test it with a obd2 scanner an trouble codes will come up, if your car still runs they will test it free at auto-zone or murrays
