To test a crankshaft position sensor on a 1996 Jimmy Blazer, use a CKP sensor to test for voltage output. Compare the results to manufacturer specifications.
If the engine is a 3100 V6, the crankshaft sensor is located behind the harmonic balancer (crankshaft pulley). You'll need a special puller to remove tha balancer. The sensor is attached by two bolts onto the timing cover. Replace sensor and plug it in. Repalce balancer& belts...you're done!
