to unclog a mechanic had to drill a small hole in the panel that holds the evap. coil and then blow compressed air thru it to unclog the drain to the outside, which he said terminates in the frame rail and is not accessable to clear the traditional way ( he found the solution on a Jeep tech info sheet that they issued about the problem)
Answerunder the passenger carpet...Additional Info:The evaporator for the AC system is located half in the engine compartment and half in the firewall on the passenger side. Inside this drain box is a styrofoam liner that is supposed to prevent condensation on the outside of this plastic box and dripping water on the passenger's legs. Unfortunately this liner is very thin and flimsy and falls apart over time which not only plugs up the drain hole but can also become lodged in the cold air vents in the dash...you would actually see white styrofoam in the vent as if someone put a peice of a styrofoam cup in the vent. The previous writer is correct in that there isn't a hose leading down allowing condensate H2O to drip out on the ground but rather its a closed system which puts the H2O into the frame rail (unibody design) so it is impossible to blow out the hose as in lots of other designs. The fix is to completely dissasemble the dash in order to remove the box and clean everything to replace this styrofoam. A mechanic will charge significantly over a thousand dollars in labor to replace this $40 part and its a job that is almost impossible for a do it yourselfer due to the complexity of disassembly of the dash. There may be a way to drill a small hole in the box from the engine compartment in order to blow out the system and to install an alternate drain hose.....if anyone knows about this please let me know !!!
where is the ac drain on 1999 jeep grand cherokee limited

No. The torque converter does not have a drain.
The transmission does not have a drain plug. You have to remove the oil pan to drain.
Remove the lower radiator hose.

Under the engine
The oil drain plug is located at the bottom of the engine oil pan. The bolt is in the middle where the pan bends.
If your talking about the leak you get after stopping the car. Then it is caused by your AC unit. This is completely Normal nothing to worry about. If the leak is on the inside then it is your heater core, lots of fun to replace (not). Hope This Helps. Anyone who has a 97 Grand Cherokee knows what kind of leaking the asker is talking about. It is not necessarily the heater core. It is a defect in this SUV. It is your drain that is supposed to run out under your car. It is now leaking into your floorboard. Try taking it and having the drain cleaned out.
