Turn it counterclockwise to release the jack and tire iron. On my car the knob is very hard to turn. It think this answer would apply to all Jeep Liberty's. Odly Enough just had to do this recently, 1. lift up your back seats, you will find car jack under there. 2. Take the tire off the back of the jeep 3. find a place to jack up under the car depending which tire needs to be changed there should be a nice large flat surface on whihc to jack the car up. 4. losen all bolts and place flat or old tire under car ( incase jack falls or fails car will land on tire instead of you) 5. place new tire on and tighten bolts in a star pattern 6. Jack car down and tighten bolts again 7. put the flat on the back of the car and then you should be fine! hope this helped!
