My stepdad, who is a mechanic, found it using a telescoping mirror. It is located above the fuel tank. Do not use the rear seat removal method as that is like building a clock to see what time it is instead of just looking at the clock on the wall. Drain the fuel tank and drop the tank, you will then be able to access the filter. Yeah its a big pain in the patoot but alot easier than removing the rear seat and prying off some metal plate......there is an obvious reason you dont want to do this....you should never have to pry off anything to gain access to a servicable part. Granted Hyundai did put the filter in a ridicolous place...which in my oppinion, was done just so you would have to take the car to a service instead of being able to do it yourself.
it is located directly under the engine it is in plain view if you look under it.
Remove rear seat, there is an access panel for the fuel filter. Remove access panel and have access to fuel filter.
