Yes , I was looking at one of the Ford websites and for the 4.0 litre SOHC , V6 engine in a 2004 Ford Explorer Sport Trac it lists : ( Motorcraft EV-268 as the part number for the PCV valve ) The drawing I was looking at wasn't very clear , but it looks like the PCV valve is at the rear of the engine or the rear of thedrivers side valve cover , just below the ignition coil pack with the six towers on it
I'm not a mechanic / technician but on your 2004 Ford Explorer , 4.0L Single Over Head Cam V6 engine : I BELIEVE the electrically heated PCV valve is located at the rear of the drivers side engine valve cover ( between the valve cover and the firewall )
The only factory engine in a 2004 Ford Explorer Sport Trac is the 4.0 liter Single Over Head Cam , V6 engine which has ( 6 engine cylinders )

yes
There is no owners manual shown for a 2004 Ford Explorer Sport on Fords website The 2004 Ford Explorer owners manual shows ( fuse # 24 - 15 amp - cigar lighter , OBD II , neutral tow ) The 2004 Ford Explorer Sport Trac which has the fuse panel on the drivers end of the dash where the fuse panel cover is visible with the drivers door open shows ( fuse # 17 - 20 amp - cigar lighter , OBD II )
According to the owners manual there is a PCV valve , but I couldn't find a part number .
It is a brass fitting on the top of the thermostat housing.
Look for bleeder valve about 1 1/2 inches tall somewhere usually front corner of engine when facing it, open small valve on top & bleed with engine at normal oper temp - usually need to open & bleed & repeat process to bleed
Timing is computer controlled.
