It should be in the Gas tank. Upon looking up the part a rockauto.com I found that it could also be an inline fuel pump, or possibly both. Start on the outside follow the fuel line and see if you can find it, then work on the tank.
The '86 Cab has two fuel pumps, one is external outside the gas tank by the right rear wheel, the other is inside the tank under the right rear seat. The internal pump may fail, causing hesitation and jolting especially during shifting.
It's block #5 on the fuse panel.

The fuse and relay for the fuel pump are located in the engine. The pump itself is located in the gas tank.

The fuel pump is the injection pump located next to the alternator and is run by the timing belt.

it is located right under the rear passenger seats. just lift up the bottom part of the seat and you will see 2 hoses and some wiring that's your fuel pump
If it is Fuel Injected, it is located in the fuel tank mounted on top. If not follow the fuel line to the engine, as it will go to the fuel pump.
If it is a V8 engine it will be located on the side of the engine toward the front. If it is the V6 it will be an electric pump located inside the fuel tank.
