The 1992 Ford Ranger does not have a fuel pump shutoff switch. You can disable the fuel pump by removing the fuel pump fuse.
In the right front passenger footwell , by or behind the kick panel
According to the 2000 Ford Ranger Owner Guide : The fuel pump shut off switch ( inertia switch ) is in the front passenger footwell , BY the kick panel * but the drawing Ford has indicates that it is BEHIND the kick panel
If you are talking about the emergency fuel shut-off switch (aka inertia switch). just push in the button on top of the switch.
i believe it is behind the passenger side kick panel ,most ford trucks are.
According to the 2004 Ford Ranger Owner Guide : The fuel pump shut off switch ( inertia switch ) is under the right side of the glove compartment , just above the carpet
On a 1994 Ford Ranger : Check in the front passenger footwell , under the front edge of the carpet , mounted on the toe board just to the right of the transmission hump ( that's where the fuel pump shut off switch / inertia switch was on my 1993 Ford EXPLORER )
That should be in the right front passenger footwell , behind ( or by ) the kick panel
According to the 2004 Ford Ranger Owner Guide it's under the right side of the glovebox , above the carpet
