Please go autozone.com; under My Zone, enter year, make, model, and engine size. Click on repair info, vehicle repair guides, chassis electrical, scroll down to circuit protection, and click on fuses. There you will find all the information you'll need, you migh need to scroll down towards the bottom of the page to find your year and engine size. It will give a diagram of the interior fuse and the exterior fuse boxes; along with an explanation of what each fuse is for and how amps it is.
A cigarette lighter fuse is normally a 15 or 20 amp fuse depending on what other accessories are using that circuit. I doubt that it is a 30 amp fuse. Maybe someone installed the wrong fuse.
Maybe someone wanted to stop someone else from using it?
Just listen to what they are asking. If they ask you for a light, light it for them. If they ask you for a lighter or a match hand them your lighter.
No. Someone else can go more in depth...
Find a local electronic component distributor. One such place is www.standardsupply.com. I suggest that you contact someone local.
I wish someone would answer. I have the same problem. All three outlets dead.
usually about 45 psi
The best thing to to with a car cigarette lighter is get rid of it. I had one start a fire in a car once. After that I have never left a cigarette lighter in a car. I throw them away. You could save it incase you ever sell the car and someone wants it. It is best not to let anyone smoke in your car or boat pilot house anyway. The light from a cigarette interferes with your night vision. Also the smoke gets on the windshield and streaks it up. Also if someone is smoking around you I am sure you don't want to breath in all that crap. If some turkey has to smoke it is best to tell them to take it outside.
on unanesthetized skin it feels like someone is holding a lit match to your skin or possibly a cars cigarette lighter on your skin.
I think you need a tool, Im trying to get mine out right now in my 08 as well and it seems impossible...someone help lol
I just read on here somewhere else that if the radio is still working the problem may be a small brown wire on the back of your actual cigarette lighter that needs to be redone. good luck
In Canada go to CTC and buy a generic cigar/cigarette lighter and plug it in the proper hole in the dash:-) .But I bet you meant lighter socket? If so answer is totally different. To prevent person's from disposining of vehicles via fire insurance that socket for the lighter is protected by a fuseable link which is built into the wire feeding the socket.Check it first.Borrow a lighter from someone else's car to make sure socket is dead not just element in lighter.
