You don't have to remove the fuse, just remove the module that makes the sound. It is usually a square black module about 1 inch square.Just run the car low on gas and listen for the sound under the dash and pull the module out
I had the same problem on my 1998 Pontica Transport. The solution was to replace the 20 amp fuse under the hood for parking lights.
This is likely due to a stuck open door ajar sensor. The "Related Question" below will provide lots of ideas on fixing the root cause of the problem. The chimes will go away right after that ;)
I HAVE 92 LSC ALSO, TRIPMINDER IS MAKING THAT NOISE WHEN IT GOES BAD, THERE IS A FUSE ON THE FUSE PANEL BY DRIVERS SIDE LEFT LEG, REMOVE......NOISE WILL STOPS , OF COURSE TRIPMINDER/CLOCK WILL NO LONGER WORK, I FORGET FUSE POSITION NUMBER, ITS NOTED IN OWNERS MANUAL.
unscrew two bolt in the front in between the door and where the door closes , take off the pannel and take out the yellow fuse, shake it and if it makes noise its burnt.
First check fuse. replace if blown. If fuse is not failed ... Then listen ear to the door while someone actuates switch to hear if motor makes noise as if struggling. If makes noise but fails to open the door, then either motor, or an obstuction in door track could be problem. If no noise, then most likely electrical connection or failed motor or switch itself is issue.
In my case the Anti-lock Brake System light came on and the first ABS fuse that I checked was not installed all the way . I touched the fuse with my finger , heard a " click noise " and the ABS light went out . Just lucky I guess but also suspicious of how that could have happened . So , it could be a fuse , a sensor , or some other problem
Do you have lights? If not, you r battery is probably discharged. I guess there could be a problem with the starter circuit. I believe this has a fuse in the underhood fuse block.
No the dash lights should be with your parking lights.comment2: They are on separate circuits. Power usually goes from the "taillight fuse" to a small 5 amp dash light fuse and then to the dash dimmer wheel or knob. Then it feeds the dash lights. A blown tail light fuse makes the dash lights go out also. A blown dash fuse only affects the dash lights.
The 1997 Pontiac brake light fuse is located in the fuse box. The brake light fuse will be labeled as the tail light fuse.
The fuse box has relays mounted in it. The clicking noise is most likely a relay that has gotten loud.
You can find the Nissan backup light fuse in the fuse box. The backup light fuse will be the number 17 fuse.
