The B2200 does not have "scan tool" capability. It does have a diagnositics port that can be used to throw out codes using the MIL light in the dash. There are about a dozen codes that at best tell you the obvious. There is lots of help on mazdatruckin.com that can help you diagnose your truck.
Look on the drivers side under the dash on the left hand side and you will see three wires two are connected just switch two of the wires and the light will go off.
I'm guessing that you are wanting to know how to get the Check Engine Light to go off. It would be a VERY good Idea to have a qualified shop hook it up and find out WHY it is on and then Fix the problem that your On-board Computer is detecting. Hoipe This Helps.
Mazda truck horn.First thing is to locate where the problem is by removing the wire on the horn and attaching a test light to the wire. Ground the test light and have someone push the horn button. If the light comes on, you have either a problem in the horn, or the horn is not grounded. If the light does not come on, the fault is either in the horn button (switch) or in the wiring. Ed
Disconnect the battery for 5 minutes. This should reset the light. It will however come right back on unless you have found and repaired the problem that caused the computer to set the light in the first place.
The check engine light normally comes on at certain mileage intervals. For example: when it's time to change the timing belt (96,000km). Under the dash you should be able to locate a plug near the steering column. Beside it there should be another empty connector. Switching over to that empty connector resets the light until the next mileage interval.
The 1993 Mazda. reverse light switch is located below the shifter column. The relay switch can be seen by removing the center console.
There is no dedicated fuse for the light.
The CPU for a dome light on a Mazda 626, and most other Mazda vehicles, is located near the main fuse box. This is found under the hood.
1987 b2200 have a mech. fuel pump ( some later model got both) you can switch to electric by using an early 80's Accord and Prelude fuel pump. Pump got 2-3 psi and a lot of gallon/hour fuel delivery to maintain your b2200 in life. The got only 2 wires (a positive and a ground) bolt your electric pump on your firewall near the intake manifold and screw the ground direct to chassis. To activate the positive wire plug it to a turn on power in the fuse box(when you turn key on current goes on and when you turn off the current goes off) Do the last step with a test-light. ENJOY and good luck
b2200 are like an older jeep on resets. under the hood up against the fire wall, most likely near the passenger side in the corner. their should be a series of wires probably run to a fuse box or along those lines. in that area will be a wire with a plug on the end of it that's not being used. if its not there then look under the dash on the driver side. as far as the tool goes you should be able to jump the connections to get the check engine light going. the codes will be displayed there as a series of flashes and pauses
The "check engine light" on a Mazda three is located to the left lower side of the tachometer. It is orange in colour.
