Behind the glove box. Open the glove box there is a little door in the back and take out the radio you'll see the screws for the box cover. Normally, I remove the 4 screws on the top of the dash pad (7mm socket) and the two screws (10mm socket) on the bottom of the dash (one by the door and one mid way across) and pull the dash off the firwall to make myself a little more room. The black plastic box has about 6 screws in it. once you get it out there are 2 straps holding in the heater core.

If coolant is leaking inside your cabin, you have a leak in the heater core. The only repair is to replace the heater core. Most auto parts stores sell them.
It is possible but takes a while. Get a manual on your car from the parts store or DISCOUNTAUTOREPAIRMANUALS.COM
Parts and labor, $500 to $600 without AC. With AC, $600 to $700. It really depends where you live also.
You need to go to a car parts store, and get a repair manual for your car. They cost about $16.00 Or, go to a Public Library.

These parts are extremely time consuming to replace. Do you really want to buy used parts and go to all the trouble of replacing them only to have them fail in short order. Buy new parts, especially the heater core.
Napa can still get some of the parts.
Go to your Chevy dealer and have the parts department print out a copy for you. If you are having trouble with the fan speeds, this is often the blower resistor located behind the glovebox. Get a new one at a Chevy dealership. About 20.00.
Find it by tracibng the fuel line from the engine to the tank. It requires special tools available at the parts store.
Have your Chevy dealers parts department print out a picture of the parts location for you. They will do this if you ask.
