The coil is mounted on the intake manifold on the passengers side. It is closer to the front of the engine and quite difficult to get at, I had to take the doghouse off to get at it but it can be done. When in doubt follow the lead wire off of the distributor.
It is advisable to have the ignition coil grounded on a 2003 Chevy Astro. This should especially be done when you are working on spark plugs and wires.Ê

Your truck does not have ignition coil. Instead, it has coil packs. The 5.4L has eight coil packs one on each spark plug. The 4.6L has two coil pack blocks 4 on each block.
It does not have a cam sensor. That engine still use's the distributor to note the position of the cam. If it's not firing then you need to check the ignition module and pick-up coil, they are both in the distributor.
