The cam position sensor is located at one end of the cam. since you have a V6, you will have two of them - one on each side of the V. I would look at the front of the engine at the two heads. There will be a circular end piece with a wire attached to it. That is the CPS.
The camshaft position sensor is inside the distributor.

According to my manual that goes up to 1996, yes the 3.0 does have a crankshaft position sensor.
Possibly, but you will run into computer, sensor, and wiring differences. It would be easier to get the proper engine.
