How do you release the belt tension on a 2003 dodge grand caravan?

If you're talking about the serpentine belt, there is a belt tensioner between the water pump pulley and the anti-vibration pulley, both of which are visible when you remove the right front tire and the plastic cover. There is also a diagram of the location of these items in front of the radiator under the hood. To remove the tension on the serpentine belt, take a pry bar and pry the pulley end of the belt tensioner down using the frame as the pry point. The spring on the tensioner is pretty stiff, so it will take some effort.

How do you replace the cerpentine belt on a 2003 Mitsubishi eclipse?

Loosen the central nut of the belt tension pulley. Loosen the tightening bolt. Remove the belt, install a new one. Set proper tension. Tighten the central nut.

Is there a belt tensioner on 2003 Chevy Trucks for the drive belt?

Yes. There is a spring loaded arm attached to the block (or head) to keep tension on the serpentine belt. You can tell which pulley it is because it will have a fairly long hex-shaped spindle in the middle (for putting a wrench on to better relieve the tension). Look for a pulley with nothing much behind it.

How do you change serpentine belt on 2003 ford F150 4.6?

use a 1/2 inch ratchet on the pivot point on the tensioner pulley, and turn to take tension off the belt...then slip the belt off all the other pulleys. install the new one, by squeezing it into a small loop that can be inserted into the space between the tensioner, and the idler pulley, loop it onto all the pulleys per the diagram located on radiator cowling, take tension off the tension pulley, to get it back on completely and release the tension slowly..making sure it is lined up correctly on all pulleys

How do you change the serpentine belt on 2003 Toyota Highlander?

Locate the idler pulley and release the tension. Remove old belt and replace it with the new one (there should be a sticker on the underside of the hood or on the radiator housing showing the path for the belt) and re-tighten the idler pulley.

How do you loosen the tensioner pulley in a 1996 Tracker?

We recently replaced the serpentine belt on our 2003 Chevrolet Tracker. We were able to place a wrench (I believe it was 9/16") on the tensioner pulley and apply pressure so the pulley released tension on the belt. This however did no allow enough slack to install the new belt so we removed the idler pulley at the top center of the engine. With the idler pulley removed we were able to route the belt and with the tension released on the tensioner pulley, routed the belt under the idler pulley and reinstalled the idler pulley, then released the tensioner pulley and the belt was installed. Be sure to note the exact route of the old belt before removal so the new belt follows the same path. Hope this helps.

How do you replace a serpentine belt on a 2003 corolla?

a 19mm socket, breaker bar to tensioner and release tension by applying force towards the front of the vehicle. remove the belt from the alternator pulley. this will also be the last pulley for easier installation. it will save you a headache if you make yourself a diagram.
