it is located in the fuse box (under the hood), if you flip the fuse box cap you will see the diagram that signals the location of every fuse in it. The automatic transmission control relay is labeled AT in such diagram. It is a black sort of rectangular shaped relay.
Automatic transmission serial numbers are found on the front of the housing. It will be displayed on a barcode that will be inlayed on the transmission housing.

The transmission does not have a drain plug. You have to drop the transmission oil pan on an automatic or you can suck the old oil out if is a manual transmission. If it is an automatic, change the filter while you have the pan off.
Remove the transmission pan underneath and it's inside of it.
The automatic transmission will have a dip stick location on a 1982 Honda Civic. Pull the dip stick to see the color and texture of the fluid.
They are bolted to the valve body, Have to remove transmission pan to service them.
On the A4LD automatic transmission I BELIEVE it is on the passenger side of the transmission behind a heat shield

the switch is on the left hand side of the transmission about half way back of the transmission. it has two wires that plug into it.
