Just adding to the answer
On a 1996 Ford Explorer the Mass Air Flow sensor is located by the engine air
filter housing . It is INSIDE the round shaped plastic housing ( you will see
where the wires go in )

Its part of the MAF sensor. In 98 they integrated it.
There is no MAF sensor on a 1996 accord.
The Mass Air Flow sensor is located on top of the air filter housing on Ford Explorer.

It doesn't have one. Yours has a MAF sensor, and it is bolted onto the air filter housing, along with the IAT sensor.
