I just did this about a month ago. Jack up the front end, just enough to comfortably reach under the front end to the transmission. Also it will move the fluid to the back, which might be a good thing if you are filling it.
The fill hole is located on the front of the lower transmission housing. You should see a bolt or an inverse square-drive plug. Remove this and use a fluid transfer pump to add or remove fluid as necessary
in the manuel transmission through the check/fill plug
It is kind of weird but the fluid goes into where the transmission dipstick comes out of. Just get a long skinny funnel.
Is this a trick question There was no 1998 model year of Mercury Cougar in North America ( up to the 1997 model they were rear wheel drive and the 1999 to 2002 model years were front wheel drive )
Should be a drain plug in the bottom of transmission Should be a fill-check plug in the side of transmission
there are two plugs a drain and a fill plug.the drain is on the bottom rear section of the transaxle and the fill is to the front of the transaxle.both accessable from under the car.take the fill plug out and if fluid comes out or you can feal fluid with you pinky finger in the hole it is full.if not fill with mecron automatic trans fluid until up to hole.
how do i fill my trans fluid in 1996 nissan 200sx 1.6 l manuel trans
There is no dipstick for the manual transmission , the fluid level is checked at the fill plug on the transmission ( underneath the Explorer )
on an automatic you have to fill through the dipstick tube. on a manual you have to fill through the fill plug on the side of the case.
There is a fill bolt on the transmission assembly under the car. It should be located on near the top of the transmission but it is easily accessable with even a floor jack or ramps.
The fluid goes down the dipstick tube.
about as much it would take to fill ur bun hole
You can purchase a hand operated transfer pump from your local auto parts store for under $20. This pump will attach to a 1 gallon plastic container and allow you to pump the fluid into the fill opening on the side of the transmission.
