should be a small black plastic box close to the distributor mounted on a bracket. it will have a couple of wires and a vacuum line the runs to the intake manifold
On a 1999 Camaro, the map sensor is located on the back of the intake manifold. The intake manifold is the series of tubing that distributes the air coming into the engine.
The MAP sensor on an '86 Camaro with a 2.8 liter engine is located by the distributor at the rear of the intake plenum. There will be a black plastic casing that needs removed to gain access to the sensor.
its on the back of the intake, plugged into the top of an adapter looking thing
You did not specify as to the engine size. Generally they are located in the air tube from the air filter to the throttle plate.
Map sensors were not used on 88 camaros. Only maf sensors
I would suspect the map sensor is bad.
There is no MAP sensor on the 2.8L because it uses a Mass Airflow system. A MAP sensor is found on cars that use Speed Density (i.e. 3.1L Camaro's).
