You will find the mass air flow sensor INSIDE the round plastic housing
between the engine air filter and the engine air intake tube on your
1998 Ford Escort ( you can see where the wiring connects )
On my 1998 zx2 it is located on the intake tube after the mass airflow sensor. It points to the front of the car and has two wires coming out of it.
On a 2002 Ford Escort ZX2 : The Mass Air Flow sensor is between the engine air filter and the engine air intake tube . It is INSIDE a round shaped plastic housing ( you will see where the wires go in )
On a 1998 Ford Explorer : The mass air flow sensor is between the engine air filter and the big rubber engine air intake tube
Any Mass air flow sensor is in the air intake system usually in the tubing just after the air cleaner.
The MAF is located upstream from the intake filter on the intake housing.
On a 2001 Ford Escort ZX2 , 2.0 liter DOHC four cylinder engine : The Mass Air Flow sensor is between the engine air filter housing and the engine air intake tube . It is INSIDE a round shaped plastic housing
On a 1998 Ford Windstar : The Mass Air Flow sensor is between the top section of the engine air filter housing and the engine air intake tube
On a 1998 Ford Explorer : The Mass Air Flow Sensor is between the engine air filter and the big engine air intake tube
www. motorcraft. com ( no spaces ) does not list a MAP sensor for the 3.0 L in a 1998 Ford Ranger , there is an AIR MASS SENSOR listed which I assume is the same as a mass air flow sensor which would be located near your air filter housing
On your 1998 Ford Explorer Sport : The mass air flow sensor is between your engine air filter and the big rubber engine air intake tube
This is inside of the air cleaner "box". It is in the part of the box that has the wire coming out of it, not the side that has the filter inside of it.
it is located on the air intake. the housing the your air filter sits in is where it is. it is not the side in which the filter rests but the connecting side with the sensor attached on the side. the actual sensor is inside that housing.
