the inland taipan is the most venomous
snake but the question is asking for the most dangerous snake. the black mamba is the fastest snake in the world. it can travel 10 miles per hour which is faster than the average human at & miles per hour so there is no escape. the taipan often doesnt inject a lethal dose of venom into humans. but the mamba ALWAYS does. Although it is estimated that only 10 to 15 mg is deadly to a human adult, its bite delivers about 100-120 mg of venom on average. Its bite is often called "the kiss of death". without anivenin the Death Rate from a maba bite is 100%
It's a loaded question, but the snake I would least like to be trapped in a closet with would be the Black Mamba. Extremely venomous, intelligent, large, fast, agile, and excitable.
Statistically however, Puff adders, kraits, saw scaled vipers, cobras, etc. are more significant because they kill thousands of people annually due to their inhabitation of densely populated areas.
The Black Momba snake.
Edit:
It depends on what you mean by "dangerous". The most venomous land snake is the Australian Inland taipan (Oxyuranus microlepidotus). The most venomous sea snake is believed to be the Belcher's sea snake. The fastest striking snake is the Australia Death Adder (Acanthophis ssp.). The fastest travelling snake is the African Black Mamba (and that is a very defensive snake anyway). The longest snake is the Indonesian reticulated python, and the heaviest snake is the South American Green Anaconda. Both reticulated and anaconda are fully able and have been known to constrict and kill humans.
The deadliest venom of any snake is produced by the Belcher's sea snake (Hydrophis belcheri)
the black maba is the most dangerous snake because other than the coastal taipan it's the only snake that every victim of a bite that didnt get antivenin died. that is no exaggeration. It is also the fastest snake, most agile snake, and second longest venomous snake in the world.
The Banded Sea Snake is the most venomous snake in water, Its venom is at least 100 times more toxic than the Taipan. The Fierce Snake, which is the cousin of the Taipan by the way, is the most venomous snake on land.
The Hydrophis Belcheri is the most venomous snake ever and happens to live in the water. The Inland Taipan also called the Fierce Snake is the most venomous land snake.
There are many different ways to look at the most dangerous snake. It could be the fastest travelling venom, the worst affect of venom, the most aggressive, the longest fanged, or the strongest. So here's a list of some, but in my opinion it's the Black Mamba.
The list goes on and on
The Black Mamba. It can inject up to 400mg's of venom into the human body. Humans only need 10-15mg's of it's venom to kill it.
