The multi-function switch is another name for the turn-signal stalk on the steering column.
It's actually not too bad of a job to replace - with the plastic covers removed with a few screws, the switch itself is held on with only a couple of torx screws.
Pull the plastic off the column - there are 2 or 3 screws in the bottom of the plastic cover to get it off. You will then have to take the 2 harnesses off the switch and then remove the (4) torx screws that hold it on. Good luck.
