the neutral safety switch is located near the rear of the engine driver side below the throttle body and air intake hose mounted on the transmission connect to spring that is connected to the transmission hope this helps you
The neutral safety switch is located on the top of the transmission. It tells the ECM that the cars is in park or neutral in order to allow the starter to start the vehicle. It does not have anything to do with shifting the car from park when the cars has been started. This is a micro switch that is located in the shifter column. This is a common mix up, just thought I would clarify.
In my 1990 GL, it is on the top forward surface of the transmission case - where the shift lever linkage connects with the transmission. There is a lot more function in that switch than neutral safety. It also provides back-up lamp power when in reverse, and signals the ECM on gear range selection. Why do you ask, may I ask? I have schematics - tell me the model (eg GL)
It's behind the air filter almost against the firewall on top of the transmission.
Take out your air filter and follow your wiring harness back to the firewall, it is connected to that large group of wires.
You will see colors like purple yellow etc attached to it.
i think it's on the transmission
on the drivers side of the transmission
CHECK YOUR NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH.(IF AUTOMATIC TRANS) OR CLUTCH START SWITCH(IF MANUAL TRANS). IF YOU TURN YOUR KEY AND NOTHING HAPPENS JUST THE DASH LIGHTS COME ON , IT MEANS THAT YOU HAVE AN OPEN IN THE STARTING CIRCUIT. FIRST TRY MOVING BACK AND FORWARD YOUR GEAR SHIFTER, IF THE NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH IS MIS ALIGNED MOVING THE SHIFTER SOMETIMES WORKS.(THEN TRY STARTING) IF NOTHING HAPPENS YOU MAY NEED TO CHECK THE CIRCUIT COMPONENTS.IGNITION SWITCH, BATTERY CONECTIONS(MAKE SURE THE TERMINALS ARE CLEAN AND THE CABLES ARE TIGHLY FITTED),STARTER WIRING,BAD GROUND.(ANTI THEFT DEVICES)
A sensor could be the reason why a 94 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo fails to start. The crank position sensor is often the problem. You can try unplugging the sensor for several minutes and then plugging it back in to see if that fixes the problem.
The 1995 Mercury Villager turn signal relay switch is located beneath the drivers side dashboard. The turn signal relay switch will be left of the brake pedal.
It could be the starter, keyswitch, neutral lockout switch, wiring connector or any of a number of other problems. Unfortunately you have to just track it down.
Yes, the car was exactly the sam for those years. Usually, the car parts comply until they change the body style completley. Or, buy a universal automatic window regulator. Patrick
How do you replace the safety neutral switch on a 1995 Jeep Cherokee 5-speed transmission and Where is the safety neutral switch located?
The 1995 Chevrolet Van neutral safety switch can be located on the top of the transmission. The switch will be just below the shifter.

Transmission range switch (neutral-safety) located on top of transmission, has a 12pin connector.
Transmission range switch (neutral-safety) located on top of transmission, has a 12pin connector.
On the transmission
The neutral safety switch and backup light switch are one in the same. You have to replace it. It is located on the transmission where the shifter connects to it.
you PROBABLY have a defective park/neutral safety switch
You do not ,you replace it .
find where the shift linkage connects to the transmission, on some model cars the neutral safety switch is there, it may be a multi switch also controlling the reverse lights.
either behind or in front of the arm of your brake pedal. Follow the brake pedal up until you find a box, either in front of or behind the brake pedal. You will find that the box has a button on it that is activated by your brake pedal, that is the neutral safety switch.
A neutral safety switch makes sure that the gear select is either in neutral, or park, befor a car is allowed to start. No, it will not stop a trans for allowing you to put it in reverse.
