Where is the oil filter located on a Hyundai santa fe 3.3L V6 2007 I know it has a drop in filter but is it more difficult than a traditional canister system?
it is located in a canister on the top right side of the engine. remove the plastic engine cover on the top of the engine and you will see it. The cover is held on by two screws and four acorn nuts.
These canisters are part of a fuel vapor system that filters outflowing air from gas tank when filled. Charcoal canister get clogged or spill charcoal to fuel lines, making difficult to fill the gas tank. The charcoal canister is located behind left rear wheel, close to the bumper. They have two hoses and an electrical conector.
Hmm - either Toyota Matrix or Hyundai Excel, not a combination of the two. Nevertheless, the air filter is probably located under the hood in a black canister with a few clips holding the lid on. Open the canister, pull off the old filter, put in the new one. It's pretty tough to muck it up too badly.
The fule filter is located on the drivers side of the engine toward the back. There is a metal canister about 3.5 to 4" in tiamiter and about 4" tall. It is conected to the fule system by the top and the filter is inside the canister. It is difficult to access but gets easier after you have changed it a time or two.
