The first question is: Is it the 2.2L Ecotech four cylinder or is it the 3.4L V6? The four bangers' oil filter is located on the front and left of center. It will be a cartridge type and will be under a black plastic cap hat will have a hex shape on it. It is accessible from the top. The 3.4L V6 is accessible only from underneath the vehicle. If you slide from the front it will be also front and to the right of center (the right being passenger side) and will be a spin-on type filter.
It is on top of the engine, slightly right of center as you look at the engine from the front. It is under a black plastic cover that screws off. The filter is a paper filter that inserts into the canister.
