How often should oil be changed on 2007 Honda civic The Civic Maintenance Minder on the dash will tell you when to change the oil. If you don't want to listen to the computer, just do it every 3,000 - 5,000 miles and you will be OK.
Check the owner's manual under 'maintenance minder'. It will tell you exactly how to do it.I did it last night on a 2007 Element:- press reset button until the maintenance is indicated- press and hold down reset button for about 10 seconds, the display will begin flashing- release and then press the reset button down again for about 5 seconds- the 'maintenance minder' will reset
The wrench warning light means there is a problem with your engine. Investigate now, this can mean many things including low oil. The little wrench icon is the "maintenance Minder Indicator" for your Honda. When this appears it is time to make an appointment for scheduled maintenance.
B = Change oil/filter 1 = Rotate Tires 3 = Change transmission fluid
A maintenance minder code of A-12 on the Insight means "A" minor oil change (i.e. replace oil but not filter), "12" perform maintenance actions 1 and 2 (these are defined in the user manual, there are a total of 5 different maintenance actions)."B" means major oil change (i.e. replace both oil and filter).Many dealerships ignore the "A"/"B" code and always replace both the oil and filter.

Oil filter location
Change the oil/filter as outlined in your owners manual and as recommended by the maintenance minder on your dash. Change the oil when the minder tells you to. This will normally be around 7,000 miles but can vary according to how you drive and the conditions under which you drive. Rather than using a static table of time and mileage to keep track of maintenance, the Maintenance Minder system calculates service needs based on how the vehicle is driven, not just how long or how far. It checks engine operating conditions, such as weather extremes, stop and start traffic, and frequent short trips. It uses all these parameters to determine when the oil/filter need to be changed. It will also tell you when to change the air filter, spark plugs, transmission fluid, and even when to rotate the tires. When you see a wrench read the code in your owners manual to see what service is needed. The Minder is located right under the speedometer.

When you have the Maintenance Minder (% oil life) displayed, push-and-hold Reset. After about 5 seconds, it will go to 100%.
