The oil pressure sending unit on a 1989 GMC Sierra is located slightly above the oil filter. You will need a flashlight to find it. It may be hard to recognize it because it should have a heat shield around it as well. Look for its wire coming down from the engine compartment and follow it to the oil pressure sending unit. Drain your engine oil and remove the oil filter to make changing the oil pressure sending unit easier.

Is it hard to replace a fuel pump oil filter switch?

You are referring to two separate things. The fuel pump has a relay and not a switch. The oil filter does not have a switch but the oil pressure has a sending unit that sends a pressure reading to the gauge. Some cars have an oil pressure switch that incorporates a circuit to shut the engine down in case it were to loose oil pressure.

Where is the oil relay switch in a 2001 f-150?

There is no relay, only a pressure switch that is wired directly to the instrument cluster with no relay in between. The pressure switch is located right next to the oil filter on a 4.6 or a 5.4 liter, and it is sticking out of the driver's side of the timing cover on a 4.2 liter.

if your pressure on the low side is ok which is 25lb to 45lb then check your low pressure switch if the pressure is too low then the switch wont close there for the current wont go to the relay there for it wont be powered.
