It is near the oil filter.
The 1986 Chevrolet Cavalier oil pressure sending unit can be found on the left-hand side of the engine. The oil pressure sending unit will be above the oil pan.
Left of the bottom left corner of the battery.
The oil pressure sending unit is mounted to the oil filter housing on the back of the engine. If you look up from under the car at where the oil filter is there is a wire connector that attaches to a piece on the side of where you screw the filter on. That is the oil pressure sending unit.
The oil pressure sending unit is located on top of the motor beside the base of the distributor. You will need a special socket from your parts store to remove/install the sending unit without harming the new one. The socket is not expensive and does fit sending units for other cars.
Any sensor that sends information to the computer or driver, such as fuel sending unit, oil pressure sending unit, etc.
