My Two Cents: The sending unit IS near the oil filter. It has two wires going to it and screws into the block. It's made mainly of plastic and if broken can allow oil under pressure to spew out and give you thoughts of a blown rear main seal due to the amount of oil all over the underside. Its very inexpensive to replace fortunately. Good luck. Momule

The fuel pressure regulator on a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee is part of the pump module in the fuel tank.
Not too difficult... That is, if you can find it. I have a '96 JEEP GC Ltd & my oil pressure sending unit was located at the back of the intake manifold by the distributor cap. !!!Pain in the Ass!!!
It is right behind the oil filter.
Where is it located on the engine
It is on the back of the engine, just to the passenger side of the distributor
The oil pressure sending unit on a 1999 inline six cylinder is located on the engine block very close to the oil filter. It is constructed of plastic and metal, screws into the block and has a two wire lead plugged into it.
