I believe the sending unit is on the oil pump. It is on the distributor side, where the oil filter screws in. The pump has 5 or 6 bolts in a circle on it, with a wire hook up on the back side. that is where I think it is. Depending on where you are I did not think they made the 225 in 1989. They stopped in 1986 in the US, who care typo.
