the oil pressure switch is located in the rear of the engine compartment on the drivers side under the valve cover

The oil pressure sending unit is located on the drivers side of the engine on the rear of the head. It has one wire going to it. It's a pain in the butt to get to. I'm looking for the temp sending unit on my 89 4cy ranger. Any idea?

which engine ? the 2.3 L SOHC 4 cylinder or the 2.9 L OHV - V6 , and what is your question ? - I'll try to help 1. i have an 1989 ranger with the 2.9 in it and it seems pretty decent it has the power to push the truck and the 4x4 i think overall it has been pretty good

Looking at the engine it is on the drivers side at about the 2nd plug wire.

The oil pressure sending unit on a 1989 GMC Sierra is located slightly above the oil filter. You will need a flashlight to find it. It may be hard to recognize it because it should have a heat shield around it as well. Look for its wire coming down from the engine compartment and follow it to the oil pressure sending unit. Drain your engine oil and remove the oil filter to make changing the oil pressure sending unit easier.
