I had a 1987 Jetta and the oxygen sensor was connected to the down pipe. It is screwed in and there should be a wire leading from it. From the engine compartment you can look near the firewall and follow the exhaust pipes. It should be sticking out midway between the top and bottom bends.
In the exhaust manifold.
The oxygen sensor on a 2004 Volkswagen Jetta is located in the engine area. It is usually encouraged to warm up the engine so as to ease the threads.
Take it to the dealership.... Its real simple take the car jack it up take off the housing cover where the oxygen sensor is at then un plug the sensor, and replace...
There are two Oxygen sensors on your car. Both are under the car on the exhaust piping. One is the upstream sensor located closer to the motor and the other is after the catalytic converter.
The oxygen sensor is in the top center of the rear exhaust manifold.
The Jetta has two oxygen sensors.
oxygen sensor is found either in exhaust manifold or in actual exhaust pipe between manifold and muffler
The oxygen sensor is more commonly known as a lambda sensor at it monitors the amount of oxygen in the exhaust gasses going through the exhaust, the Mass air flow meter monitors the incoming air coming through the air intake before it enters the engine.
where is the crankshaft position sensor on 2.5 liter vw jetta
It is in the exhaust system before the catalytic converter.
not necessarily. just make sure you got the right size wrench... although, there is an oxygen sensor tool specifically for removal and replacing. would make your life easier.
You will find the oxygen sensor just after the exhaust manifold and just ahead of the catalytic converter. Get under your car or maybe you can access it from under the hood. It screws right into the exhaust pipe.
