I have a 98 Bonneville SSE with a 3800 Series II V-6 engine- ( NOT SUPERCHARGED ) The power-steering fluid cap should be in the same place as on my car Look to the left and below your alternator- near the passenger side firewall! you might need a flashlight to see it better, but it should be right there - to the left and below your alternator. Hope this helps.

The Pontiac Bonneville used the same power steering fluid from 1992 until 2005. You should look for GM Power Steering Fluid with part number1050017 for quart sizes or part number 1052884 for pint sizes.
Classic sign of low steering fluid.
The power steering reservoir is underneath the alternator by the firewall.
It is on the left side of the engine back by the firewall.
Put it in the p/s resirvoir located on the pass side of the engine compartment under the alternator.
This is two of the things I know that could be wrong. The power steering pump is either bad or there is no power steering fluid in the pump causing it to have steering problems. Be sure to check the fluid level in the power steering pump.
Behind the strut support bar, behind and under the alternator is the power steering cap. It is difficult to get to. Good luck!
take off serpentine belt unbolt powersteering pump and hoses and drain it. That's it.
The resvoir is located on the passenger side of the car behind abd below the alternator. You have to reach down and feel for the cap. You will also need a long funnel to make it possible to add the fluid.
It's in the transmission.
The power steering fluid reservoir is located under the hood of the car. Remove the lid, using a small funnel and add the right type of fluid, and replace the lid.
