top of dash r/s speaker grille
the sensor is in the post behind the drivers door at the bottom , this sensor turns your headlights on in daylight mode when car is started but it is not the sensor that turns them on brighter ( or the dash lights ) automatically when dark
If your headlights will not turn on it is probably not the bulbs since two do not usually go out at the same time. Most likely, you have a bad fuse that needs replaced. If the vehicle has an ambient light sensor that automatically turns the lights on when the sun goes down, the sensor may have failed or check to see if the sensor is obstructed/blocked from sunlight tricking the unit to think it's always dark out. This would cause the headlights to stay on.
Yes. During the daytime the lights will be out if the van is parked and running, but when put into a gear, the lights come on. If it's dark, the ambient light sensor recognizes the need for light and turns the lights on when the vehicle is started. The intent is to make the vehicle more visible. I've found that on my 2000 I can override the automatic lights by pressing the "Dome Override" button on the dash four times in succession. I get a single chime and the headlights go to manual control. They return to automatic control the next time the vehicle is started.
I assume you are asking about later model S10's that have the automatic photo sensor that turns the headlights on automatically when it gets dark The only way to get the lights off in darkness is to PARK, turn off ignition, set parking brake, and then re-start engine. Once you release the parking brake, the lights will come on. and while driving switch the manual control to headlighs on, press the dome override button back to back about 4 times and a ding will then signal manual headlights. just make sure your headlights are on cuz i was playing one night and blacked out on the highway.. haha
if you are talking about the automatic sensor that automatically turns the lights on and off, it is on the dashboard probably in between the defroster vents it is probably a small plastic or glass bubble usually you have to remove a large portion of the dashboard to replace it
a light sensor is movement is made this triggers off the sensor which turns of the light

the same nob u turn ur headlights on with u jus twiest it to the left n it turns them up, n also turns up ur dash lights.
yes, but only at certain stores.
put a lamp beside a sunlight sensor, and when the sun comes, the lamp turns on, if the sun goes away the lamp turns off
The photo sensor should be on the right side of the top of the dash. Gently pry it up and unplug the wires going to it. Wrap the wires so they won't rattle and poke them back into the dash. Put the sensor back like you found it and your automatic lights will be fully manual from now on.
