I believe it is plugged into the back of the instrument panel. The instrument panel is the area that you see your speedometer, odometer, fuel gauge ect... You generally have to remove the steering wheel, the cover for the turning signal switch and such.
its a unit called a slosh module or voltage regulatow in the dash cost about $30 in parts

you will have to find an old chiltons manual at the library or someplace to get that info.

The transmission control module is mounted under the dash. It is on the driver's side, beside the ECM module.
You will have to pop the front plastic cover off of the dash and you will see the module in the dash right beside the head light switch. Make sure the dash is WARM before removing the cover are it will brake.
