I just replace the abs speed sensor on my 2000 Ford range for the same problem. It's located on the rear differial axle on top. cost approx. $23.00 for the sensor. 10 minutes to replace with the approiate socket. Nothing special.
If the abs and check engine lights are on there is a problem. Both computers should have codes stored in there memories. Have the codes read. You can then diagnose the cause.
their is more than one oxygen sensor but the one that is probly bad is on the exhaust system. otherwise I would check the map sensor.
my ranger did the same thing you need to check the wires and the plugs or your o2 sensor behind your cat if ths wont fix the problem you have a serious problem!
If you car is equip with a idler sensor you might want to replace it.
p1039 for a 1999 ford ranger indicates a camshaft position sensor fault. it could be the sensor, wiring, or the PCM. must be properly diagnosed to determine the real fault.
If these two lights come on together then the extra traction sensor is broken and needs to be replaced when the sensor is fixed the check engine light will go off and the ets light will work properly again.
The sensor states "check brake lights and brake linings" is this something I can do or must it go to the shop?
Auto Zone will check engine lights and will turn off for FREE.
Check engine lights come on for several reasons. I own a 98 Monte and my check engine light comes on alot. It could be any thing from a un clipped sensor, fuse, oil needs changed or checked. Take it to Pep Boys or Autozone they check out your check engine light for free.
could be a bad crank sensor, it wont always set a code, ive had a few that dont. if you have a scope or scan tool, manually check that the sensor is good.
check map sensor that was the problem in my 89 2.3 ranger
the check engine light goes on and all the other lights ABS, brake, trac keep coming on and going off
