The solenoid is located on the passenger side on top of the starter motor.
Under the hood. In the blower motor harness connector.
its located on the bottom passenger side of the motor in front of the transmission

it is located under the engine on the right side of the engine. crawl under the right front wheel and you will see the starter motor and the associated wiring.
To remove the starter from a ford transit van, first you need to disconnect the battery. Once the battery is disconnected, you will find the starter on the gearbox facing the flywheel. At this point, you will need to remove connectors that are located on the back of the starter, and take out the bolts that hold it in place. By giving the starter a shake, the starter motor should come out.

The solenoid is attached to the starter. The starter or pilot relay is located on the fender behind the battery. On some models (notably the 4.0L engines) there is also a solenoid located on the starter motor itself, under the vehicle. In this case, the relay on the fender serves only as a pilot.
