underneath the intake manifold on the drivers side
A temp sensor
no, but it is mounted on the hose from the air cleaner to the the engine.
The 1999 4.7 liter engine temperature sensor is located just above the thermostat housing. The sensor will be on the front of the engine.
Disconnect the battery. On the side of the throttle body, disconnect the wiring from the position sensor. Remove the bolts from the sensor, and lift the sensor off, reverse the procedure to install the new one.
Even a new coolant temperature sensor may be damaged by over temperature. Thermistors also drift off calibration with age. Check for corrosion on the connector.
I have a 99 f150 w/ the v6. You actually have 4 o2 sensors. 2 upstream of the cats and 2 down stream of the cats
coolant temp sensor is on the driver side rear cylinder head. If you look straight down upon the rear head you will see the connector plugged straight into it!goodluck.
engine temp sensor is bad
front driver's side, under the grill to the right
Drivers side behind the grill under the plastic guard at the top of the ac condenser.
I had the same problem with my 99 f-150. Turned out to be a sick-sensor problem. Replacment of the oil pressure sensor was the fix.
Where is the knock sensor for a 99 pathfinder
