in florsiqa It is in the bellhousing and it is a Slave/Throw-out bearing all in one. There is a quick connect and a bleader valve on the outside on the tranny. It is like the Jeep manual transmissions.
The number one cylinder for a 97 Cavalier with a 2.4 engine is the one closest to the passenger side. The firing order is1-3-4-2.
70 foot pounds.
After you have located the clutch slave cylinder, have someone depress the clutch pedal. You should see the piston of the slave cylinder extend somewhat. If it does not, either the slave cylinder is bad, or the master cylinder, or, there is not enough brake fluid in the system for it to operate properly. Check the level in the master cylinder. If the slave cylinder is leaking profusely, it is probably bad.
The reservoir is under the hood on the drivers side firewall. The slave cylinder on my 97 4 cylinder is on the drivers side of the transmission. I believe you can see the bleeders near the top of the tranny.
yes that is my question
YOU CAN'T. The clutch is either worn out are the clutch slave cylinder is bad.
The slave cylinder is located on the front top side of the transmission. It is held in place by two bolts. The easiest way to find it is to trace the hydraulic line from the filler cup to the slave cylinder. This is the same for all 92-97's. I am not sure about any other year.
Did you bleed the air out of the hydraulic system after changing the wheel cylinder? If not, you must do so.
how do you remove and replace the distributor cap on a 97 chevy cavalier?. I can not get to it.
YES you do. It's all in the bell housing. No other way to get to it.
Well yes and no. Both have a 2.2 four cylinder if I'm not mistaken, but I don't think the earlier Cavalier's have the EcoTec motor. And you should be able to get the engine from the '03 into the '97 with no problem.
