Where is the thermostat located on a 1998 Isuzu Trooper?
The thermostat on a 1998 Isuzu Trooper is located on the front of the motor. It is in the top radiator hose where it connects to the motor. To access the thermostat, the hose needs to be disconnected from the motor.

From what I understand, you have to diconnect the exhaust system on the side that the starter motor is located on. To reassemble you have to replace the exhaust gasket with a new one. If you are replacing the starter, there is a GM starter that is a direct replacement for the Isuzu starter and costs quite a bit less.
I have a 1999 Trooper, perhaps your fuse panel is in the same location as mine. Look to the left of your brake pedal along the interior wall where your left foot rest. If not look to the left of the steering column where the dash ends, almost underneath the dash, you'll probably have to lay on your back to see it. Hope this is helpful.
First the thermostat must be located on the 1998 Toyota Rav 4. The thermostat housing is on the left side of the engine under the exhaust manifold. The lower radiator hose flows directly to it. Drain the coolant, remove the hose and mounting bolts. Replace the thermostat from the inside of the housing and reinstall.
