On the 2.0l zetec, the thermostat is located on the side head of the engine on the drivers side. If you follow the upper radiator hose to the plastic thermostat housing, (this is where it is located). This is a 2 piece housing. 3 BOLTS hold the main water housing to the engine block (These do not need to be removed to change the thermostat. The three screws on the thermostat housing (usually torx heads) need to be removed. (where the upper radiator). Inside you will find the thermostat. Remember to replace the thermostat gasket at the same time and also some thermostats will only fit in a certain way so pay attention when the old is removed if there is a little hole (foget what it is called) at the 12 oclock position on the thermostat.
