Where is the thermostat on 1995 Acura Integra?

unlike most conventional vehicles where the thermostat housing is located on the block at the end of the upper radiator hose. the thermostat housing in a 95' Acura integra ls is located on the block behind the distributor at the end of the lower radiator hose. first you want to disconnect the negative battery connection, setting if to the side making sure its not able to reconnect with the battery. drain your cooling sytem by removing the radiator cap and plug(found on bottom passenger side of radiator). then undue all electrical connections to the thermostat. unbolt the two connecting bolts holding the thermostat housing in place, remove the lower radiator connecting hose from the thermostat housing, off setting it upwards to deter any residual coolant from leaking on the engine block. completely remove the bolts holding the housing in place. remove the housing, exposing the thermostat. remove the old thermostat and compare it to the new thermostat( checking diameter and condition). clean the housing and thermostat port of any debris. fit the new thermostat with a new gasket and place in the thermostat port in the block the same way you removed the old one. reinstall the housing, bolting it in place. reinstall the lower radiator connecting hose to the thermostat housing on the block. refit your electrical connections to the thermostat, reattach the negative connection to the battery and refill your cooling system.
