If the vehicle is an automatic the transmission pan must be removed. To drain and refill you must do this through the dipstick tube. If it is a manual the drain plug is the same as the check plug. You must insert a hose and drain it manually. In either case it is recommended to have this type of service done at a reputable auto shop.
