there is a removable plug on the top right side of the transmission, facing from the rear. to check fluid level, put tranny in park, start engine, let it idle, remove this plug. if fluid seeps out, you do not need fluid.if no fluid seeps out , fill through this hole until fluid starts running out. Then the transmission is at proper level.
no
How much transmission fluid does a 2001 ford Taurus need
There is no container. BMW transmissions are "lifetime fill" meaning that they are not supposed to need fluid added. You can add fluid directly into the transmission through the fill plug.
About 5 quarts
right beside the air filter container. theres a little cap that says transmission fluid. you need a long funnel to refill.
Unlike washer solvent, power steering fluid and coolant, transmissions do not have a separate container. The fluid is contained in the transmission itself. Look for a dipstick to check the level similar to how the oil is checked. I am assuming you have an automatic. YOu need to BClear.
You remove the transmission dip stick. You will need a small funnel that will fit in the tube where the stick goes in at to check fluid level in transmission. Put fluid in there.
the automatic transmission don't need the fluid to be changed never if you change the fluid with a new one you going to lost your transmission
Need to know make and model of vehicle in order to answer this.
Any DEXRON-III synthetic transmission fluid. Some brands seem to work better than others.
If there is a real need to change the transmission fluid, one simply unscrews the drain plug on the bottom of the transmission. If there is a need to do this, it is strongly suggested that one drop the transmission pan and change the filter also. Always catch the old fluid in an approved container and dispose of properly.
