It does not make any difference what color of anti-freeze you use in your 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier. The anti-freeze manufacturer can make their anti-freeze any color they choose.
It is red. All transmission fluid is RED.
There could be an internal problem with the transmission. Check the transmission fluid for a burnt smell or odd color, indicating transmission damage.
The transmission dipstick is located on the front of the transmission and is accessible from underneath the car. It is green in color and held in by a retaining bolt.
If the color in the car is green...yes. If you are changing the coolant completely, give it a good flush first, then put in whatever color you want. When in doubt, use the Prestone yellow "any color" anti-freeze.
My 1990 Chevy celebrity does not have a drain plug on the transmission pan. Your car probably does not have one either. You could break loose a transmission line from the radiator and add fluid in the dipstick tube while the car is running until the color of the transmission fluid clears up. I am guessing you are trying to change the transmission fluid. This is how I changed my transmission fluid there are lots of videos on how to do this on youtube.
On the exhaust cam tower by the power steering pump.(driver side) It will be black and silver in color.
The tranny dipstick will be of a maroon color an the driver side of the car.
The Transmission dipstick is located on the passengers side next to the firewall it should be red or yellow color dipstick.
