There is a way to type the underscore symbol. Press the SYM key and the special character selector will open. Use the directional pad to scroll through the symbol set.

When you "enable" your number lock key, when you press the number buttons on the numeric keypad it will type numbers. When you "disable" your number lock key the number keys on your numeric keypad will no longer come up but the keypad will return to its default settings. That will depend on the layout of the keyboard. For a standard keyboard the Home Key is in a block of 6 keys between the main keyboard and the numeric keypad. The 7 key on the numeric keypad also acts as a Home Key when Num Lock is off.
The Enter key on the numeric keypad or the Return key on the main keypad are the two main keys. Any of the navigation keys such as the arrow keys or Page Up etc. will also enter a value when it has been typed.
You should just be able to hit the NumLock key on the numeric keypad.

A number of keys can do it. The Enter key on the numeric keypad or the Return key on the main keypad will do it. The Tab key will do it. Any of the 4 arrow keys will do it. There are also a few special key combinations, such as Ctrl-Return to enter one value into multiple cells.
