The voltage regulator is built into the back of the alternator. It can be changed if you are able purchase one through a automotive electrical rebuilding shop. Most places just want to sell you a complete alternator.

It is located inside the inner primary at the front of the motor below where the voltage regulator is mounted. The voltage regulator will have a wiring harness that plugs into the stator plug on the outside of the inner primary (the stator is located under the plug). You must remove the outer primary and the clutch basket to access the stator.
The enginge computer is the V-Regulator.
You can find the voltage regulator for your 1987 Toyota on top of the alternator. The voltage regulator is attached to the alternator with two retaining screws.
No, the voltage regulator determines the alternators output voltage. That's all it does. If the regulator fails the battery level can drop to the point that there will not be sufficient charge to start the engine, but the regulator will not directly cause the engine to not run.
Most common would be your blower motor voltage regulator, this is the part that varies the voltage to the blower motor telling it to go faster or slower. It is located up under the dash on the passengers side and pretty easy to replace. You might also have to replace the blower motor and cover though, if the regulator has never been replaced before you might have to do this. The old style regulator is not available anymore.
its mounted to the alternator which has to be removed to get to it
The Fuel Regulator is located on the fuel rail, near the back of the motor.
no it will only make the battery not charge
the voltage regulater is built into the alternator it regulates how much volts gives to the battery
the blower moter is located just behind the battery in the black boxor on the black box
You can use a voltage regulator IC/transistor that can take any input voltage (to a point) and spit out whatever voltage you want, depending on your application (in this case 380 volts) then be sure you build a regulator with the correct IC/transistor. Hope this helps!
On the top of the motor there is two of the the glow plug relay has no cover on it
