No. The voltage regulator is in the engine bay on the passenger side mounted to the fenderwell. It's in front of the strut tower. It's a silver colored metal box, about 2" square. Wire harness connects to it on the bottom.
The 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee (and the LTD.) takes 6 1/2" speakers all the way around... (all 4). Tweeters are a different matter.

It is not easy to disconnect, but very easy to reprogramme.
look under the jeep on the frame rail by the fuel tank if is not there it might be in the tank
definitely a fuse
