∙ 10y agoThe "Coolant Sensor", for the ECU, is right next to the water neck at the front of the engine. the "Coolant sender", for the temperature guage, should be on the back of the head at the rear of the engine!
On the passenger side of engine, on side near back. It's hard to see, and probably the best way to remove is to lay on top of the engine and work blind, by 'feel'. The sender is connected w/ an 'L' shape connector.
try replacing the intake manifold temperature sender, situated on the water housing in front of the enging block. Mine did the same. waldov@drivecon.net

I would first inspect and clean the connection at the sender. If that did not improve the problem, I would replace the sender. I suspect it is a sender problem.
